Drontal Tablets (Dog)

Drontal™ is a prescription deworming medication that can be used on cats and dogs to treat intestinal parasites. Drontal is intended for use in cats and kittens, while Drontal Plus is specifically formulated for use in dogs and puppies. If you’ve spotted tapeworms in your pet’s faces or have seen other symptoms, then you might need an effective dewormer for cats and dogs.

Description

Drontal™ is a broad-spectrum treatment that can treat parasites such as: Tapeworms, Hookworms, Whipworms, Roundworms. FOR DOGS: For oral administration only. Drontal Plus Flavour Tablets can be given directly to the dog or disguised in food. Access to normal diet does not need to be limited before or after treatment. Puppies should be treated at 2 weeks of age, then every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age. Thereafter they should be treated at 3-month intervals. For routine control, adult dogs should be treated every 3 months. In the event of a heavy roundworm infestation, a repeat dose should be given after 14 days. The dosage depends on the dog’s weight:
  • 3-5kg: ½ tablet
  • 6-10kg: 1 tablet
  • 11-15kg: 1½ tablets
  • 16-20kg: 2 tablets
  • 21-25kg: 2½ tablets
  • 26-30kg: 3 tablets
  • 31-35 kg: 3½ tablets
  • 36-40kg: 4 tablets
  • For dogs over 35kg, consider Drontal Plus XL Tablets
CAUTIONS: Not to be used during pregnancy but may be used during lactation. Do not use it simultaneously with piperazine compounds.
